The idea that this is a matter of peripheral glucose uptake is a broken one really, sure that can lower blood sugar in some people but this is far from the primary defect here, and to the extent that the actual primary defect is defective, i.e. Lynn what I think sets us apart from a lot of diabetics is that our glucagon production seems to be more difficult to manage, although type 2 diabetes always comes down to glucagon levels I think. It starts with putting the right tools in there though not the wrong ones, and that's a much bigger problem, as what they are treating isn't something any of us suffer from, from a causal perspective that is, which is the only perspective that makes sense. I think it comes down to there being any influences on the disease and people love to homogenize, it's so easy, it's often also so incorrect though, like just lose some weight there and exercise more and even change your diet, the list here is long, the toolkit is large though and we need to certainly individualize treatment more. I don't think there's anything wrong with the typing of T2 but we certainly are prone to make a lot of assumptions based upon what is wrong with us that try to group us together, which are often not valid. Stuff like inflammation can certainly affect it and people have various degrees of this. Well there's nothing better at increasing glutathione, and glutathione levels can be linked to blood sugar, like a lot of things can. The latter aspect needs to be tested though. What I'm seeing though is a quick and significant drop in blood glucose on a fasting stomach and what appears to be a lowering of the peaks of subsequent hyperglycemia after a meal. I did see one comment over on when discussing the bond breaking of insulin that that could be a positive since it could act as an insulin mop for too much insulin. And while it shows up as a supplement in many diabetes supplement lists it's rather intense glucose lowering tendency are not frequently mentioned and it is treated as just another antioxidant. It seems to have been used in PCOS more than in diabetes. At least part of the lowering is apparently breaking up the insulin molecule via breaking one of the chemical bonds. Google shows NAC as both raising and lowering glucose. It seems that NAC works very well for me for reducing my blood sugar perhaps even close to hypo (I was 69 after my Friday workout and actually ended it early due to some strange feeling discomfort). An additonal hour later it was back at 111. I subsequently ate some fruit salad consisting of a little egg, grapes, apple, cheese and sliced ham along with some bone broth with greens.

I did it again this morning and it dropped from 106 to 86. When I added Nac back in though my fasting bg dropped from 103 to 92 within 2 hours. Since I had just recently focussed on the tmg and nac I decided to put them back into the regimen one at a time.

I take a number of methylation substances including b12, methylfolate, niagen, TMG etc. I had taken some NAC, something I tend to stay away from due to its being associated with pulmonary hypertension. I then started looking at my other supplements. However it returned to 'normal' after that brief period even though I continued the increased pterostilbene and exercise. I initially thought it might be additional exercise or increasing the amount of pterostilbene I was taking.

Last week my blood sugar plummeted for 2-3 days.
